Government Aims To Reduce Power And Fuel Costs Through Green Energy Adoption

The Kenyan government is planning to reduce the high cost of electricity and fuel by adopting green energy sources. The Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary, Davis Chirchir, stated that the government is investing in renewable energy sources that incorporate green energy and plans to retire the use of fossil fuels in the country as they are hazardous to the environment and expensive. Kenya has 93% renewable energy, making it ahead compared to other countries in terms of renewable energy and climate change. President William Ruto also revealed his intentions of unveiling electric bicycles in the boda-boda sector as a way to roll out the government’s agenda on e-mobility.
