Each of the nine tents has been well thought out and uses a side-opening construction that allows you to feel even more like a part of the forest around you. While it may not have the best views of other facilities in the Mara, Naibor is a fantastic tent to spend your vacation. It is spacious, has a relaxed atmosphere and feels closer to the wild.

2. The Governors Camp

These four camps are strategically located on the route of the great migration. During this period, the camps benefit from the phenomenon as tourists book to the capacity to witness the annual wonder. For the last ten years or so, the centres have also been the base for the famous BBC Big Cat diaries, which have made the plains of East Africa so renowned.

The most significant point about Governors is that there’s a regular crossing point given the bar….so it is possible to sit and have a beer while seeing the most incredible spectacle offered in safari! The camp is comfortable and continues to provide excellent value for money.

4. Serian Nkorombo

Serian was a mobile camp that would shift from one place to another in search of a perfect spot. However, the centre found a permanent location near the Mara River and took permanent residence there.

Although it is no longer a mobile camp, Serian maintains its luxurious feel of a mobile base and boasts excellent sightings of leopards, black rhinos, and lions. Above all, it is located where the great migration takes place; hence visitors get the best of the action.

5. Sala’s Camp

Sala’s Camp overlooks the union of the Sand and Keekorok rivers. It is situated right in the heart of the game-rich Masai Mara. Not only is the camp brilliantly located, but each pristine tent has its private plunge pool, a real luxury that sets this camp apart from the rest.

6. Little Governors

The Governor’s camp owns this tented camp, but it is smaller, giving it a quiet feel. Like its bigger brother, the centre is strategically located along the Mara River, and it has been a favourite of many tourists visiting the park.

The location, on one of the west-facing bends of the Mara River, gives the views from rooms over the river and a nearby watering hole. With the Paradise plains nearby supplying the area with outstanding game viewing, this is one of the top lodges in the Mara.

7. Rekero Camp

This is a neighbouring camp to Naibor that offers everything that a centre should have. It is well adapted to the Mara. The centre is owned and managed; hence it maintains excellent standards comparable to international camps in Botswana. Still, the centre has been in Maasai Mara for some time, making it a visitor’s favourite.

8. Il Moran Camp

Still owned by the Governor’s camp, it is the smartest of the Governor’s Collection. For the money, it offers a superb safari experience for excellent value. Compared to other camps around it, the rooms are relatively vast, and all feature views of the Mara River.

The rooms come with Stunning wooden beds and bronze baths to typify the feel of the camp. It is set in a superb location and is much cheaper. This is an excellent choice if you want to safari in style.
